Oil and Filter Change

It’s important to check your oil level and add oil as needed. Perform oil changes as necessary and change out the oil filter regularly. Check your oil level before every use and be careful not to overfill the oil; it can cause the engine to overheat.

Check Tires

Ensure that your tire pressure is correct before you start using your UTV, especially if it was in storage for an extended period or if a tire has been left flat for a long time before being refilled. Use a pressure gauge and your owner’s manual to achieve the proper level of tire pressure. Do not overfill tires, as this can cause the thread on your tires to wear unevenly.

Checking/Maintaining Battery

If your UTV was in storage for prolonged periods without being started, it's important to check your battery. Batteries need to be charged regularly by either turning on the vehicle or having a battery charger. Make sure to check for corrosion around the battery poles. You should also check for low electrolyte levels.

Proper Storage Tips

If you’re planning to store your UTV for a long period of time, we recommend a few tips when it comes to storage.

  • Cover your UTV, even if you are storing it inside a shed or garage.
  • Use a battery charger/maintainer to extend the life of your battery.
  • Add a fuel stabilizer to help prevent the gas from becoming stale.

We hope these tips help you ensure your UTV has a long lifespan and continued reliability. If you have any questions, come visit us at Lintlaw Service in Lintlaw, Saskatchewan. We serve Yorkton and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Our team is waiting to help you.
